Mercedes Schlapp doesn't have an straightforward job as White House strategic communications adviser. In March, her name was floated to be the person who could replace Hope Hicks at the Communications Director post. This fight was ugly. Schlapp's ally Tony Sayegh and an opponent who is also named Tony began fighting in the news. Schlapp claimed that after she was informed that when the Washington Examiner ran a story with negative remarks about Sayegh she had a discussion with Sayegh.
